On 20th July 2020 Lumen released an improved experience for students in Waymaker, which also included some new faculty features. More details about the experience and additional features can be found at this information page.
All of Lumen's most recent Waymaker courses (as of July 2020 onwards) support the new assessment experience, with the following exceptions:
- Principles of Marketing (will be available April 2021)
- College Algebra
- Dev Emporium
- Elementary Algebra
- Pre Algebra
- Math for Liberal arts
If your course is a recent version of one of the supported courses, you may already have automatically received an updated course.
Please note: If a course had students with any in Waymaker assessment attempts at the time of the release it would remain on the older assessment experience. Only new course copies, master courses, or courses where students are not yet active would have been upgraded to the new experience.
Older Course Versions
Older versions of Waymaker courses do not support the improved assessment experience (and related features like tile hiding). In order to have this experience in their course faculty will need to update to the latest version of their course.
Depending on your course, you may see an update banner (shown below). This banner allows the instructor to download a new course cartridge for the latest version of their course which can then be imported into a new, empty course shell within their LMS.
If you received email correspondence in November 2020 from Lumen, your course is also eligible for the new assessment upgrade, though you won't see a banner in your existing course. In order to receive a new cartridge, please fill out this Zendesk form and a member of our support team will reach out to assist you.
